Biographies- Amie Brotherton

Amie began dancing at the age of four and quickly discovered her love for Ballet which still remains her number one passion. As a child, Amie danced with the English Youth Ballet.

In her teens she went on to study many different forms of dance including Contemporary, Jazz, Modern Theatre and Street and also joined the Northants County Youth Dance Company. It was whilst undergoing her A Levels that she met fellow Launchers, Theresa and Francesca.

Amie went on to study a BA Honours Degree in Dance where she also worked with the London Childrens' Ballet. She then went on to become a qualified Royal Academy of Dance Ballet teacher and currently teaches at the Diana Miller School of Dance in Northampton.

2012 was a big year for Amie who danced in the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony. She was chosen to perform an extremely challenging Street Dance routine to the music of 'Dizzy Rascal'.

Amie also runs 'Amie Brotherton Dance and Fitness' which is based in Northamptonshire and offers classes to both children and adults in a whole range of subjects from Ballet to Boxercise! She hosts parties for children under 'Dazzle Dance Parties' and offers many different entertainment packages for little ones.

Amie also blogs for the well known dance-wear company 'Capezio' and often features on their website.

She is a keen athlete and enjoys running and swimming when she's not dancing and sometimes manages to indulge in her other passion...baking!
